Monopoly

"Take a ride on the Reading. Do not (and I repeat 'Do NOT') pass 'Go'".

Sometimes I wonder if life really is just like that. Moments where you experience one thing after another, days that flash past you while you take a ride on the Reading. It has been a whirlwind of events, and nearly three months after graduation, I still have yet to pass "Go."

I've been working at my parent's business this summer, trading in my books for black and white numbers on the screen. Good ol' fashioned accounting - paint by numbers - sort of thing. It's had its good points for sure, but I find the world a little less colored, a little less lively doing this job day in and day out.

As much as I have loved spending so much time with my family (it has most definitely been good for the soul), these days I find that I'm missing my girls a lot. Our lives just keep on diverging and I find that even though we may chance upon being in the same city for a month or two, it is still difficult to find the time to do what my best friend calls "life together".

And I know it won't stop. Ever since high school, we have all taken our place in God's plan, one foot in front of the other. I guess I just hope we'll have a little reprieve from these lives, spend some completely non-sensical and quality time together before this summer ends, before we're that much more apart. Before we all pass "Go."
