The Ultimate of Inwardness

I had a thought tonight. And I realized that I am the most selfish when I feel the most out of control. I realized that when I feel the most terrible about myself, I am also the most terrible to others.

It's surprising what things come to mind while you're mindlessly in the shower. What's funny is that it's never the big things you do that indicate where your state of heart is; for those you can always hide behind what you would usually do, gussie up enough courage and strength to pull through. Instead, it is almost always in the little things that tell you where you are, either with yourself or more importantly, with God and those whom you love and who love you.
