There are moments where you step outside of yourself briefly and realise just how blessed you are. I went to first hall tonight (didn't feel like getting my gown for second hall) with four friends of mine and ate college's version of lamb curry ;)
It's November now and I'm starting to find a rhythm, getting into the hang of things. I love so many things about Cambridge, about this wonderful gem in this island that has given us so much. Lectures generally run for four weeks; there are exceptions - some run for six or eight. In general though, four is the norm. It's week five now and so I've started a new lecture series on prose fiction and the modern novel. It's GREAT. Been toting around E.M. Forster around with me now for the better half of Michaelmas, cracking it open whenever I have five spare minutes between classes. Knowledge sticks together right? I think my heart actually squealed with delight when Professor Trotter mentioned Howard's End in his lecture yesterday.
This is what I've been waiting for - all through undergrad. It's amazing what's out there when you no longer let fear trap you inside your room, when you go out there and realise that God has placed you in one of the richest of places.
Things that make one happy: Lectures. LOTS of lectures.

Thing that makes one really happy: Candice celebrating her twenty-third birthday. Happy birthday dear. Wish upon some dancing candles.
