You Raise Me Up

The last line of Josh Groban's song is this:

"You raise me up to more than I can be."

The ride this week has been pretty incredible. Not having taken it all in stride yet, I will say that I know that these are blessings from God. So in this moment, in light of all that He has given, that is how I feel, heartaches aside. God often asks us to let go of the 'good' and look toward the 'best'. How short-sighted we often are of what that could be. But now, looking back on these past two years, I really couldn't be any happier with what He's done - from the things that He has asked me to relinquish to the abundance He's given in return. So as I'm getting ready to go out to my first 'reading' at a chic bookstore on Stephen Avenue to hear my colleagues and their works, I'll play this song. This is to my Lord, my Savior, my ever Abba Father who knows me more than I will ever know myself. This is my thanks.

When I am down and oh my soul so weary
When trouble's come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit a while with me

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be

You raise me up to more than I can be...
