Standing in the shower tonight, after a relentless wave of events, emotions, and tears, I felt truly broken for the first time this year. I have been waiting for this moment for so long.
You know it's not true what they say - about the despair of hitting rock bottom. For it's only when you've really, truly, hit that place that you can finally look up and break free from the sin that binds you.
'The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit' Psalm 34:18
that is because
'The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart' Psalm 51:17
O God, you will not despise.
